Figurative elegance

Paintings by Anna Razumovskaya .

"With her classic figurative forms, highly acclaimed Russian artist Anna Razumovskaya magically captures the lyrical romanticism of renaissance portraiture, while creating art that is completely modern and original. Anna is inspired by the graceful elegance of the female form, at turns, classically alluring, demure and provocative. Her art has a pervasive sense of ‘romanticism’, and the passionate and dynamic application of paint on the canvas and the artist’s signature use of expressive colour, combine to create her uniquely recognisable style".

Art ideas: Plotting human emotions

Emotional imaginery is becoming more popular. For example, Jane Davies, a student of the University of Southampton decided to use a human face as a canvas to display emotions such as happiness, disgust, suprise etc. As human emotions are indeed unpredictable, a student plotted the points, according to where the emotions were felt the most on her face. Akward but interesting!

Egyptian Art: onion

This image symbolizes an awesome time I have just had. There has been as international event at my uni, where I could taste different dishes from around the world and admire artifacts from countries such us Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Africa including Egypt- a place I want to go to! They have presented traditional egyptian perfumes- very strong and remarkable. Food was excellent, originally made by students- Malaysian rice (delicious), Greek salad (knew before!), Saudi Arabian coffee (got used to it and want to try it again!) Serving coffee to visitors is an age old custom derived from Bedouin hospitality traditions and an important part of Saudi Arabian generosity. Saudi Arabian chicken sandwiches and dumplings and lots more from Kuwait and Egypt plus delicious traditional cheese and apple cake from Poland. And of course white tee from China! No..I have not eaten Egyptian onions...Yet!

artful mood: fear versus happiness

being scared
being happy

Can you think about things or situations you are scared of? And that usually your fear exists in your head- and it has nothing to do with people and things around you. Well overcoming your own mind is a big challenge. It sometimes tells you things that are not true..but if you stop it from letting you down: the fealing of personal power and victory will make you fell superior and you will enjoy the calmness of the peacful music

Drawing fashion

Michael Sanderson creates a great ilustration work. You can draw an insipration for your own style. A modern twist of sophistication - "He combines three different illustrative styles, either working together or independent of one another, to create a sense of energy and excitement in each painting"

artful mood: being human

Man, indeed, describes more than he explains; while the angelic spirit sees and understands. Man judges nature in relation to itself; the angelic spirit judges it in relation to heaven. In short, to the spirits everything speaks. (Fine Art Centre Uk)

Ten Rules for being human by Cherie Carter-Scott

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

Figurative art

Figurative art describing human figure is most catching. Paintings are always derived from real object sources, which makes them very appealing and intriguing.

Pop art Tate modern London

Why an installation art has become so ubiquitous? and why everything can be an installation as long as it has art status conferred on it? I have seen the most cunning exhibition imaginable. An unexpected mixture of everything: sex, music, animals, louxoury and holywood stars in colour...to mention a few. These are confusing times for the visual arts audience, which is growing rapidly. However being confused need not be a bad thing for you since at least it compels engagement from you.."The graphic scenes of sex and nudity in Tate Modern's latest exhibition made me uncomfortably aware of the act of looking – but left me unsure as to the art's purpose"J.Flanders

Art with New Year Resolutions

I have had lovely time in London. Now everything's back to normal. Setting new challenges is always thrilling especially if you believe things will happen beacuse you want them to happen. My head is full of ideas. When it comes to new year resolutions I decided to focus carefully on this blog above all as I want it to be something special, different and deseriable. I am going to keep you posted only if I find something unique around the web. I will highlight: hapinness, beauty, passion and positive expression in anything and everything artistic. When it comes to lifestyle everyone knows that:

=the evidence is in for fitness: increases longevity! weight loss and enhances mood amongst others! Why not make this the time to start getting in shape?

=enjoying life more brings balance to your body, mind and soul (e.g by reading this blog :)

= Taking up a new hobby or trying your hand at painting are means to self development

= Quiting drinking, smoking and getting out of debt...contributes to your general health and lifetyle ...to mention a few...

A Place to Live: Villa in Spain

Incredible. I have actually concluded that living in Spain could be a great idea. I have never thought seriously about this country before. There are several reasons for that: proximity, I am not keen on flamenco, live is something more than just party. Neverteheles- I have fallen in love with spain properties..charming villas and although they usually are nothing more than massive white buildings I can easly imagine myslef living there.

Butterfly Gallery

The collection of images is called The Daughters Series. From author's point of view "They are exploration of the past and the present, the changing roles of women in society and the traits, genes, influences, heirlooms and occupations we pass down through our families"

The enchanted Closet

The enchanted closet turned out to be a great source of inspiration... I liked one of its posts "glamorous girls" (in pictures). Although the blog seems to support a family business (enchantedclosetshop) which is a boutique full of gorgeous, unique products and clothing sourced from Australia and around the world I sticked to the above images as they mirior my taste of art. The pictures remaind me fauvism to some extend. Morover Mattise especially liked to paint women, because he said they had held the answer to the mystery of life...
